Peggy was a great co-worker at Saint Matthew’s . She always had a way of finding the humor in stressful situations and she was a great storyteller. She touched many lives during her teaching career and she will not be forgotten. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am immensely sorry for your lost. Mrs. Conte was my favorite teacher. She taught me in grades 6-8 at St. Peter’s in New Castle. I remember having a particularly bad day at school and she counseled me. One thing she said really stuck with me through the years (I’m 24 now). “You can’t control what other people do or how how they make you feel. But, you can make sure you never make others feel the way that you feel now. You get to control that.” I think about her words often.

Lisa Blakely (Her Student) lit a candle and writes,
Ms. Conte was my favorite teacher and inspired me to become a math teacher. I’ve been a math teacher for now 6 years and inspiring kids just like she did. She was both my 5th and 7th grade teacher and was just absolutely amazing with her classes. She has a kind heart and would do anything for her students. I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy goes out to her family❤️

To Mrs. Conte's family, I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. She was my favorite teacher at St. Matthews. (Even though she made us rewrite our spelling test every time we made a mistake instead of just crossing out the misspelling.) I have fond memories of her sense of humor and her ornery personality. In my own career as a teacher, I thought of her often. My sincere condolences. Debbie Sniadowski

    Sister Marie Moore writes,
I am so saddened to hear of Peggy’s passing. She was so young...well, she was younger than I was?!! Seriously, she taught 5th and sixth grades with me, Donna, Mrs. Brooks and Mrs Monaghan. We had so much fun together. We thought the kids loved us but we were never sure. We always had fun with the children. She will certainly be very missed. She was so loved by all of us. I will miss you, Peggy! God loved you!
