Manoj Purshottam Patel, affectionately known as Bana, had the pleasure of many titles, but none as standout as “A Respected Man”. Manoj was born on December 20, 1951 in Kenya, Africa. Manoj was one of four children, having two brothers and one sister.
The adventures began when he moved to London at the age of 18, to further pursue his education. Full of determination, he attended The University of Brighton Polytechnic, where he graciously received his degree in Cosmetic Chemistry.
On June 6, 1978, Manoj married his young beauty, Jaya Patel. The love for his wife only grew stronger as they ventured into parenthood. Often referring to her sweetly as “Mummy”, then following up with “Thana na kabar pa da” as sweet banter. Manoj adored his wife Jaya more then words can express. She was the apple of his eyes. From this union, three handsome sons were created, first born Shacin Patel born 1981, Second born Jay Patel, 1983, and third born Dharam Patel, 1990. Family was the most important aspect in his life. Manoj cherished every single moment he spent with his boys. Their fondest memories included cooking, watching movies, and working together on home improvements.
In 1995, Manoj and Jaya, moved to the United States with their three boys, to embark on a new chapter of their lives. He worked at MBNA for 8 years, before he went into retail, where he retired after 20 years.
Manoj had many passions, but he had a natural affinity for Videography. Manoj’s pure and natural talent gave him the ability to turn all of his visions into beautiful and meaningful art. Over the years, he has blessed many families with his talents, helping them capture unforgettable moments at weddings, birthdays, and family events. Manoj loved entertaining family and friends. Dinner could be an all out event, with his love for music, dancing, and cooking, everyone always felt welcome. Manoj was an avid movie watcher, with a real love for John Wayne westerns.
Full of life, Manoj will forever be remembered by one of his favorite lines, “Your gonna love it!”, much to his way of life, enjoying every moment, as a special one.
