James M. Pando

James (Jim) Pando passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Blanche, his sons, Jim (Lizanne) & Jeffrey (Couqui), and his granddaughters, Cynthia & Jenna.

Upon graduation from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, with a B.SC. in Chemical Engineering, he married Blanche and they moved from St. Catherines, Ontario to Manhattan, NY. They stayed there for two years and then had their son, Jimmy. Then moved to Pike Creek, Delaware for Jim to take a job with Tide Water in Delaware City (which was bought by Getty, then Texaco, then Star Enterprise) where he had a successful career for 35 years.

He was a man of faith, and his family belonged to Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware for 60 years.

Most recently, he and Blanche had retired to the Cokesbury community where they have lived for past 12 years.

Bob, Elaine, Dan and Eileen Pando; and our families lit a candle and writes,
Blanche, Jimmy (Lizanne), Jeff (Couqui) and the rest of the family you have our most sincere condolences for this heartbreaking loss. Jim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a good man who treated everyone with the greatest respect and friendliness. He was a great brother to Bob (Elaine) and Dan (Eileen) – who loved him and will miss him dearly. He will always live in our memories. A truly amazing man. Few realize that Jim was a star basketball player in high school and university; once scoring an unbelievable and never matched 48 points in a game at Merritton high school in Ontario.
