Virginia J. Kimble

Virginia J. Kimble, 95, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2017 at Newark Manor. She was born in Newark, Delaware to Anna and Howard Jester. Virginia graduated from P.S. DuPont Hugh School and worked as a bookkeeper for Delmarva Power. As a member of Saint John Cathedral in Wilmington, she was very active in the life of this church and was a member of the alter guild and various support groups. In retirement she worked with the archivist to document records prior to the closing of the Cathedral. Virginia was very proud to be a native Delawarean who was also an avid University of Delaware football fan and attended many games with her brothers.

Virginia is preceded by her parents, her sister Duane Eddy, and brother Franklin Jester. She is survived by a son Thomas Kimble (Judy) and a daughter Janet Atkins (John), five grandchildren; Beth Wile, Jay Kimble, Phillip Kimble, Brian Helmuth and Jonathan Helmuth and 1 great grandchild, Hunter Helmuth. She is also survived by brothers Howard D. Jester and Lawrence Jester. Her greatest pride was her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.

Funeral Services

Visitation:  Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park from 1:30 to 2:00 on Friday November 10, 2017

Service:  Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park at 2:00 on Friday November 10, 2017

Interment:  Following the service in the adjoining cemetery on Friday November 10, 2017
