James Lindell Cleveland (Jim) passed away on November 4, 2024, in Wilmington, Delaware. He was born in July of 1964, in Pasadena, California to Allen Lindell Cleveland, Jr. and Shirlee Blalock Cleveland.
Jim and his family moved from Southern California to Houston, Texas in 1973, where he attended Stratford Senior High School before graduating from Chester W. Nimitz Senior High School. Jim had a passion for music in his youth and played the drums, not only with the high school marching band, but very loudly at home as well. Jim later graduated from The University of Delaware with a degree in Economics and embarked on a career in the international moving business.
On August 29, 2012, Jim married his beloved wife Deborah “Debbie” Cole. They resided in Wilmington, Delaware, close to family, until his death.
Jim is survived by his wife Debbie Cleveland and his mother Shirlee Bailey. He is also survived by his twin brother Bob Cleveland (Donna), sister Coree Henderson (Dave) and sister Christine Ewell (Dan) as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Jim is also survived by his three children and a grandchild from previous marriages: Calysta Gene (Caly) Cleveland and her daughter Aspen Claire, Collin Lindell Cleveland and Caulten Edward Cleveland.
Jim will be remembered for his kind heart and role as a wonderful caretaker for so many, especially his mother Shirlee and his late mother-in-law Louise Buonassisi.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 am at Christ Church, 505 East Buck Road Wilmington, DE. Interment will be private.
