Rich was a one-of-kind spirit, heart, and person who exuded kindness, goodwill and positive energy. A void in our lives has been created that will not and cannot be filled. The time out at dinners, casinos and anywhere else good times could be created and shared with Rich and brother Rob and friends will always be heartfelt, remembered and cherished forever. Our deepest condolences go out to Eleanor, Randy, Rob, Carolyn, Katie, Rowan, Ryan, and all other surviving family members, and lastly but certainly not least, Cheryl, who unconditionally and devotedly cared for him throughout every day of this final chapter of his life on earth. A life on earth too short for a man so strong. He will be missed beyond words....

:((( Rich was one of a kind. He definitely lit up a room. If he was in the room, you knew it because people were always laughing, and him the most. His laugh was contagious, I bet we can all hear it in our heads?! He had the most outrageous stories, that actually happened to him! He was always in pickles! And I think how he befriended everyone, no matter who they were. Everyone liked Rich. I was always so proud to say , “ yeah, he’s my cousin!” You will be sorely missed here Rich. But I plan to see you again!!, love Leigh and John Grohe

RIP, dear Rich. Such a good hearted man. He had a way of making everyone he knew feel special. I’m so glad he and Cheryl were able to find in each other what we all hope to find—a supportive life partner, a best friend, and a shelter from the storm. Cheryl, I know you made Rich’s last months here so much better, and I saw how he found solace and happiness in your genuine and enduring love for each other. I’ll never forget seeing how happy he was at the birthday party you planned for him, and I admire and appreciate how hard you fought for him, how well you took care of him, and how much joy you brought to him. All the love and support that you gave to each other during such a difficult time is such an inspiration. May God bless you both. Condolences to all who loved Rich. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” -Thomas Campbell, Scottish poet

Rich has been my friend for over 25 years. I have assisted him with his accounting and income tax needs, and always looked forward to getting together with him and discussing not only business, but his life, and what was going on with him. And yes, I could always count on him to tell me a story which would have me in laughing convulsions! Rich was "one of a kind", just a total pleasure to know, and count as a friend.
