Timothy Bernard Carr, age 68, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Timothy grew up in Brighton Heights and was the son of the late Joseph Carr and Margaret (O’Donnell) Carr. Tim graduated from David B. Oliver High School and earned both a B.A. and Master of Library Science degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. He spent many years as a librarian, most notably at Marymount University in Virginia and the National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. Tim was a veteran serving in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne.
His brothers, First Lieutenant Dennis Carr and John Carr predeceased him. He is survived by his children, Julia and Timothy of St. Louis, and his brothers, Hugh (Sylvia) of Pittsburgh, Joseph (Marilyn) of Tampa, Florida, and Daniel (Nancy) of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
