Frances B. Taylor

Frances Marie Beardsley Taylor, age 92, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born in 1932 and grew up in Chester, PA. and attended Chester High where she was a drum majorette and participated in Young Life. She spent many happy summers in Nicholson as a child with her grandparents, then later with her aunt and uncle.

Fran went on to Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minn. While there, she met Melvin Taylor. They married following their graduation and moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended seminary. As a preacher’s wife, she deeply enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School. There were many moves over the years and Fran had a knack for making every new landing a home. She never forgot a birthday and “thank you” notes were always in the mail the next day.

Adventures included extensive travel through the U.S., helping to build a school in Panama and trips to visit her daughter Sandra in Paris. Family gatherings with her cherished nieces and nephews were one of the joys of her life. She also loved a good joke, dark chocolate and a glass of wine at the end of the day. All of which put an extra twinkle in her eye.

She is pre-deceased by her husband; her parents James Beardsley, Sr. and Kathryn S. Beardsley; her sister Kay Meade, her brother James Beardsley, Jr.; her brother-in-law James Miller. She is survived by her sister Jean Miller, daughters Rebecca McCarty (James) and Sandra Taylor, her deeply beloved nieces Gwen Griffith (Albert; sons Shane and Brett), Gayle Santa Maria (Zeck; sons Zachary and Justin), and Gerri Miller, and nephews Guy Miller, Gregg Miller (Shari) and James (Jimmy) Beardsley III (daughter Summer).

Special thanks to St. Francis LIFE  and Ingleside Assisted Living for supporting and enriching Fran’s later years.

A very special lady and a very dear cousin to me. Up to a few years ago, we were in close contact through emails and phone calls. What a blessing she was! I always enjoyed her bright spirit and cherished her deep faith. (I still have my flower girl dress from her wedding!) We shared a widowhood and found solace with each other and in our shared faith. I really look forward to seeing her again at our Eternal reunion. This world's loss is Heaven's gain - she is with our Lord now and so many loved ones who have gone before. I love you, Fran, now and forever.

Ms Franny was a wonderful woman I looked forward to taking care of her every morning. She always had a bright smile in the morning. She lives her Bryers vanilla ice cream. Ms franny will be truly missed at Ingleside. I will miss seeing her do her hair and makeup in the morning with her classy outfits. She was a great resident to talk to and she was very understanding. I loved calling her Mother Franny. I want to wish all my condolences to the Taylor family. Just remember she is watching over all of us and smiling with her beautiful smile.

Words cannot express the sorrow and pain I feel for the loss of Ms. Frances, and she will be greatly missed by many here at Ingleside Assited Living. Ms. Fran used to call me Jamsie and even during her last days she could recognize me and still call me Jamsie and this was so sweet because we had a great relationship, and she was very kind and joyful anytime I visited her room. I cannot thank the great family enough especially her niece Gwen and her daughter Rebecca for trusting myself and my staff while we were taking care of a very sweat person that everyone enjoyed talking to and caring for during her stay at Ingleside Assited Living. I wish the family peace and comfort as you grieve the loss of a loved one.

She always had a compliment for the staff. Mrs. Taylor was always very pleasant.
