Reyne Kutz, 72, formerly of Cary, NC and Wilmington, DE passed away January 1, 2024, surrounded by her family after a long battle with dementia.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Stephen A. Kutz, her parents Gilbert and Alice Capaldi, and her brother Jerry Capaldi.
Reyne graduated Mount Pleasant High School in 1969 and the University of Delaware in 1972 with a degree in elementary education. She spent several years teaching before moving to North Carolina with her family as her husband pursued a career in pharmaceuticals.
A devout Catholic, she taught Catholic education classes, was a eucharistic minister at St. Andrews Church in Apex, NC and attended church regularly. Reyne was very family oriented and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren in her later years.
She is survived by her daughter Valerie Cucinotta (John) of Glen Mills, PA and son Thomas (Jennifer) of Belton, MO, siblings Rebecca Hardy (Bruce) of Wilmington, DE and Jeffery Capaldi (Cynthia) of Avondale, PA. Her five grandchildren include Johnny, Gabrielle, Carmen, Tommy, and Raleigh.
A viewing at 10:30am followed by mass at 11:30 will be held at SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Association for Frontotemporal Dementia (theaftd.org) is requested.
