Janice Van Gunda

Janice Mae Van Gunda of Lewes, DE passed away on November 28, 2023 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford, DE.  She was 82.

Born in 1941 in Las Animas, CO, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Stilley and Mildred Wasmer Stilley.  She was a homemaker and loved to help her friends in the community where she resided.

She is survived by her husband Jesse I. Van Gunda of Lewes, DE; son Cyrus (Melissa) Van Gunda of Camden, DE; step-son Jesse (Alicia) Van Gunda of Cordova, TN; step-daughter Jodee (David) Adams of Hamilton, MS; and step-son Michael Van Gunda of Pensacola, FL; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as sister-in-law Angie Stilley of Manteca, CA.  In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her brother Claude Stilley, her sister Evelyn Weir, and her step-daughter Melissa Van Gunda.

As per Janice’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.

    Jess and Cyrus I'm so sorry for your loss, I still can't wrap my head around it. She was the most caring loving woman I had the pleasure to call my friend,. When I was informed I cried all night long. My prayers go out to you guys prayers for her Rest as well may she Rest in Peace.
