Geri Williams

Geri Ann Williams (Greenamoyer), age 72, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away surrounded by family and holding the hand of her husband of 50 years, Kindell (Bud) Williams.  Geri was a kind and gentle soul and a loving presence in the lives of those privileged enough to know her. She will be deeply missed.

Born in Lehighton, Pennsylvania in 1951, Geri enjoyed a childhood filled with joy and adventure. She spent countless hours riding her bike through the rolling hills of Lehighton and creating cherished memories at her cousin’s swimming pool.

After graduating from high school, Geri moved to Delaware to live with her beloved aunt and uncle, Miriam and Bob George. She attended Goldey Beacom College, where she furthered her education and developed a passion for accounting. Geri dedicated many years of her life to working in the banking industry, utilizing her skills and knowledge to make a difference in her profession.

One of Geri’s greatest joys in life came from her family. She adored her husband, Bud, and their commitment to each other was a shining example of love and devotion. Her three grandchildren, Jared, Sean, and Madelyn, brought her immense pride and joy and held a special place in her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them.

Geri had a natural talent for bringing beauty into the world. She loved decorating for holidays, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for family and friends. Her gift-wrapping skills were unparalleled, and she took great pleasure in making every gift look like a work of art. Geri had a deep appreciation for nature, particularly flowers and birds. The sight of a cardinal always brought a smile to her face, as it reminded her of her late mother, Alma. She would lovingly greet the cardinal, saying “Hi, Mom,” as she felt her mother’s presence in those moments.

In addition to her husband and grandchildren, Geri is survived by her son Andrew Williams (Mary Beth), her sister, Sylvia, her foster grandson, David, the mother of her grandsons, Gwen Williams, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.

Geri is Predeceased by her sister, Judy Fatzinger.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Geri’s family suggests that contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.  Geri Ann Williams (Greenamoyer) will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the flowers and birds she so adored.

Oh Geri. You will be missed by all of us who knew you. Your sweetness and laughter filled us with joy and always made our day brighter. I'll greatly miss your funny emails that always made me laugh out loud and the incredibly delicious fudge you made us at Christmas. There are no words to describe it's yumminess, just a rounder tummy, cause who could eat it one piece at a time. Your kindness you showed us throughout the many years we've known each other was so appreciated. God's blessings and comfort to Bud and your entire family and when the Cardinals come to my window, I'll know you are also visiting. Peace be with you, lovely lady!

Wonderful obituary. Now I will think of her whenever I see a cardinal, and there are plenty around here. Enjoyed staying with Bud and Geri in Wilmington, and in Oak Orchard over the last 40+ years.

I am married to Andy’s great friend, Carlton, and came to know his mom, Ms. Gerri, in that manner. We kept in touch via Facebook by making comments and replying to each other on posts. One thing we meant to do is play a game of Mahjong. I have a board and she was going to teach me but we never made a chance to get together given the pandemic and schedule overall. She will be missed and thanks again to Ms. Gerri and Mr. Williams for coming to my and Carlton’s wedding 25 years ago. Marla Posey-Moss

I was so sad to hear this news. I’ve known Geri for so long through the friendship she had with my mom, Debbie, who was her coworker back in the Beneficial days. Geri, Terri, and my mom. The world will be a little less bright without Geri’s smiling eyes.

Geri and I worked together at Beneficial Bank for 10 years. We became close friends quickly. She was so friendly always smiling very good natured. It’s sad but we drifted apart the past few years I thought of her often and wished I had reached out to her. But family and life just keeps you busy. I’m very saddened by her passing, I’ll think of her often and her family are on my prayers. Geri I love you dearly and always have and I know we will see each other again. God Bless you and may you rest in Gods loving hands. Thanks for being my friend.

I met this beautiful woman named Geri Williams 33 years ago. She became my working partner at the bank. From there we developed a close sisterhood. We talked a lot, went to the movies together, ate at various restaurants, shared recipes and always enjoyed each other's company. Geri was a wonderful, kindhearted, loving and caring friend. She always looked out for the other person. I enjoyed her delicious fudge each Christmas, her tasty lasagna when we ate at her and Buds place. I loved how she enjoyed decorating for the holidays. And oh how beautiful of a job she did. We loved to sit down and chit chat over tea and homemade desserts. She loved to cook and bake and oh how tasty they were. I will miss our times together. You are now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. No more pain, no more sickness, no more doctors. You are at rest now. Sleep on my friend. The memories we shared i will carry with me to the end. I love you Geri Williams, your co-worker and partner, Terri Walker.
