We will miss Marty and all that she brought to her circle of friends. To share an evening, an event, or simply a conversation with Marty was to walk away with a smile on your face and a new thought or idea to ponder. To know Marty was to understand how great the role of "grandmother" could be! And - to listen to Marty was to admire the beautiful relationship she and Bob shared together and with their children. Marty's heart and soul shone. Peace. Sam and Jerry Feldman

My son Jake was lucky enough to land in Marty’s class in Kindergarten. He could not have been placed in a better class, her sense of humor and kindness and individual attention to each child was such a blessing. Mrs Fwanks as Jake called her back then will be missed by many. Luckily I was able to tell her how thankful I was for the start she gave my son. He will remember that class and Mrs Franks forever. The family has my deepest condolences ❤️❤️ Becky Yearsley

The first time I met Marty, she was a volunteer in my classroom. She came in once per week to help with the first graders. I taught both of her daughters in first grade. She told me how much she loved my teaching and I was so excited when she was hired by the Avon Grove Schools. She always made me smile and I know she is smiling and pain free in heaven now. Bless her family as they continue on without her. Till we meet again.

Having known Marty through our Social Committee at Ovations at Elk View, was my great pleasure and honor. She was exceptional at all she chose to do and that involved many, many activities. She was a non-stop thinker and worker. It was a joy to be on the same committee as Marty because she made every job a fun activity. Move on,Sweet Marty, to bigger and better projects. We will all miss you. Rest in Peace! Denise Malone

My deepest condolences to the family and friends on the loss of Marty. Marty and Bob were among the very good friends I made when first arriving at Kemblesville School in the late 70’s. Marty’s warmth, laid back attitude and penchant for quick, clever and amusing comments always tended to bolster one’s spirits, even if your actions were the subject of the comments. I looked forward to the yearly Coping and then Kindergarten classes drawings and descriptions that she and her colleagues Leiane and Paula would have their charges prepare for the principal. It was always a morale boost for me to visit her classes and enjoy the interaction she had with the children. Typical was their attitude when entering the school doors to skip down the hall, hand in hand toward her class, the principal choosing to enjoy rather than critique their rule infractions. A similar experience of being with Marty was shared by adults, colleagues and parents alike. You always enjoyed being with her and felt confidant that her mature and informed judgment, as well as her people skills both with adults and children, would make any situation better. I pray that the many fond memories of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher will ease her loss somewhat and that these recollections will continue to enrich and inspire her family and friends. May she be enjoying her reward now for living her life so fully and lovingly. Jack Neill

Both of my sons had Marty. We moved to Pennsylvania when our oldest was in Kindergarten, it was January. I was nervous- Marty immediately put me at ease. I loved volunteering in her classroom. She loved each child- she knew each child and taught to their style of learning. Her unique sense of humor was cherished by children, teachers, parents, friends and administrators. She always had time to share a laugh. Marty loved all. Prayers for peace for her family- she will be remembered as “ Spectacular”.
