Kristine Ruth Lopes, age 70, of Rehoboth Beach, DE and formerly of Wilmington, DE and Ardmore, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Lewes, DE with her family by her side.
Kristine was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1953, daughter of the late Sterling and Corynne Hardgrove Phipps. She graduated from the Haverford High School in 1971 and she completed her studies at Montgomery College in 1982 to become a paralegal.
Kristine was a Leasing Director for Federal Realty Investment Trust for 30 years. Throughout her career she was a member of I.C.S.C.
In addition to her career, she loved supporting and attending area sports. She was a coach for the Naamans Little League and team mom for Naamans that competed at the World Series in Williamsport, PA in 2003. She was an avid supporter of St. Edmond’s Academy, Salesianum and the University of Delaware Baseball Team. Kristine was a 20 year member of the Save The Children organization.
In addition to her parents, Kristine is also predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Edelman and Karen Phipps. She is survived by her husband H.J. Lopes of Rehoboth Beach, DE, her son, Zachary Lopes of Wilmington, DE, her brother-in-laws, Michael Lopes of Jensen Beach, FL and Teo Lopes of Pennsville, NJ as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edmond’s Academy, 2120 Veale Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 or Salesianum School baseball program, 1801 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
