Daniel W. Jefferis IV

With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel W. Jefferis IV on April 20, 2023.

Dan was born on January 29, 1944 in Chester, PA to Daniel W. Jefferis III and Alice Wheatly Jefferis.

I was just asking Carole, "Have you heard from BooBoo lately"??? Today, reading the News Journal, Boobie's Obituary answered my curiosity Very Sadly... Boo was a longtime friend at the Ex Station, Intramural Softball, and many other Social Venues... He was certainly a Special (one of a Kind) Guy, his sense of humor was definitely his strongest and most untiring asset. I will surely Miss You BooBoo, Rest In Peace, My Friend...

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TO THE FAMILY! I worked with Dan for many years at both the Experimental Station and Chestnet Run Plaza. He was a Dear friend. He had many, many friends and did many a favor for us all. He used to take time out to drive me to my colonoscopy appointment, and would wait for several hours after which we would always go to lunch. He set up many functions, including the "Pig Fest" at Stanleys Tavern, plus many other dinners and functions. He was a Great friend to everyone and will be dearly missed by all. He spoke very fondly of Jack DiCristofaro and they together Loved everything baseball. Boo Boo as he was known to most of us will be extremely missed. REST IN PEACE BOOBY! George

The middle of the 20th century found Dan and me as classmates in first grade at Martin School in Chester, Dan's mom was our Cub Pack den mother, and later his dad was our Boy Scout Master. In our teen years Dan got me involved in the local church youth group, summer camps, and church league basketball. We were both in Bethlehem in the early '60s, Dan at Moravian and me at Lehigh, and we had breakfast together at Five Points Diner many mornings. When GayLynn and I married, Dan was Best Man, and I had that role at his first marriage. We lost touch for a long time after that as we each started careers and families, but Dan eventually tracked me down through the internet. For the last dozen or so years, we've exchanged visits, and had phone conversations every week or two, solving the world's problems, presidential politics, bragging about our families, and inevitably discussing our health. His collection of hospital admittance bracelets approached 20, so he had a lot to talk about. We've looked forward to him visiting us in Maine again, but Dan's health prevented that last summer. He was an honest and true friend, a treasure of a man.
